Disclaimer: This page contains some information about the codes and values upon which many Motorcycle Clubs (MC's) are based. This is NOT the Bible, but it must give you a pretty good picture in how an MC works, how you have to behave and for what the members of an MC stand. The author of this page doesn't take a stand in, he just gathered this information all over the Net and brings it to you.

A vast majority of MC club members are just regular people. Have jobs, families, good and bad days just like anyone else out there. In other words, they are people too. They just choose a little bit different lifestyle than most and only ask others to respect their choice. They have certain codes they live by and it's not just when the have their colors on! It's 24/7/365.

The following is just some of the ideals they live by. I'll say again, different areas have different views on things even between members of the same club.

Why is the Harley-Davidson the main bike of choice for a majority of MC's?

Before answering this question, it's interesting you know a little bit of the history of the HD Company: soldiers returning from WWII that used the HD's that the military bought (WLA's) , were now back in the US and wanting that same motorcycle they were used to using. When these soldiers got together and formed MC's, it was the Harley that they preferred. Indian was basically the only other choice at that time.

Honda's or other Japanese crap didn't really start showing up in the US market until the early 60s. Honda's weren't well thought of in the MC community, especially by many of those vetrans that had fought against the Japanese.

One of the big advantages the HD had was that it was built in the US, using the available US parts. Many of these same parts were also used in the vehicles and farm equipment.

To put it simply, they started the clubs using HD and it became the traditional bike to have. In recent years, there have been many MC's that have relaxed those traditions to include other brands, including foriegn bikes. A mistake in my eyes...!
